Thing:Inscription

 Thing:Inscription  node definition.

Description

Nodes with both the "Thing" and "Inscription" labels, representing epigraphic texts written on material objects, structures, etc. Note: this node records the TEXTUAL CONTENT of the inscriptions themselves and does NOT represent the object that is inscribed (this will be represented as another Thing and connected to the inscription by relationship). Represented in visualizations by HTML hex color #02C39A:  Thing:Inscription  with black (#000000) label text.

Analogy

A row in an "Inscriptions" spreadsheet or relational database table.

Example

"Imperial dedication of Marcus Aurelius and Commodus"

CIDOC-CRM Mapping

MAYBE include a short summmary here, but leave the details for the designated CIDOC-CRM section.
