Vocab Nodes

This section provides definitions for all "Vocab" type nodes.

Description

Generic node label for all items in the database’s controlled vocabulary. Controlled vocabularies are used to standardize and enforce approved terminology with established meanings, often derived from an established digital thesaurus or taxonomy such as the Getty Art & Architecture Thesaurus or the Forum on Information Standards in Heritage (FISH) Vocabularies. These nodes are further subdivided by domain and used to populate drop-down menus.

Nodes are NEVER recorded with ONLY the "Vocab" label, but ALWAYS with one of the following label PAIRS:

Label 1Label 2Label Pair
VocabxVocab:x
VocabyVocab:y

The reason for this generic label is to facilitate queries across all "Vocab" types. Additional pairs may be added as the data model incorporates additional "Vocab" types.
